What is excess reduction?
All our vehicles are covered by RCA and Kasko insurance with a standard excess of €1,500. The day before the rental begins, the deposit amount of €1,500 will be automatically charged to your credit or debit card and will be refunded at the end of the rental, unless there is damage to the vehicle.
In the event of damage to the vehicle during the rental period:
The customer is required to pay the amount of the damage directly to CamperSardegna, up to the amount of the excess or the damage itself.
If the customer has purchased RentalCover’s GOLD – Zero Excess insurance, the external insurance company will reimburse the customer directly for the amount paid to CamperSardegna, thus reducing the financial risk associated with the excess.
To reduce the risk associated with the excess and deposit, the customer has two options:
- SILVER package (€21 per day): Reduces the excess from €1,500 to €750, includes roadside assistance, damage due to theft or robbery, vandalism, and allows the addition of a second driver.
- GOLD Insurance – Zero Excess (external insurance provided by RentalCover): Maintains the €1,500 security deposit retained by CamperSardegna, reduces the customer’s financial risk, because in the event of damage, RentalCover insurance directly reimburses the amount paid, includes all the guarantees of the SILVER package and additional extra coverage. Hiring a motorhome means never looking at your watch, stopping when and where you want and easily changing your itinerary. The motorhome is synonymous with freedom.
The kind of mobile home to rent can vary depending on the trip. For a long holiday with the family, the alcove caravan is the ideal vehicle: beds are always ready, kitchen and bathroom are spacious. For a business trip or a romantic weekend probably the Van is more suitable. The semi-integrated is definitely suitable both for a weekend or for a long holiday as a couple.
